1971 MV Augusta 750S

MV Augusta 750S

1971

1971 MV Augusta 750S

– A desirable early production example
– Complete with it’s original engine and factory stampings
– Full provenance from new, delivered new in Italy
– A running, riding example
– Documented by Marque Historian Ian Falloon

Widely considered the pinnacle of MV’s production bikes, the 750 Sport features MV’s hugely successful 4-cylinder, double-overhead-cam engine design.

This early specification 750 Sport, featuring the more dynamic (and more costly) paint scheme on the tank, was delivered new in Pescara, on Italy’s Adriatic coast in November of 1971. The original Italian registration documents show Giuseppe Mele as the first owner, a personal friend of Count Agusta. Thanks to the original Targa and other documentation, the provenance is complete from new including just four Italian owners.

In 1986 the MV was bought by a Swiss collector with a growing collection of significant motorcycles. We acquired the MV from him earlier this year.

Now showing just 29,362 KM, a mileage which is believed to be original, this early production 750 Sport features the smooth faced crankcase and retains the early style heads, Dell’Orto 24 Carbs, exhaust pipes, drum brakes, etc.. Speaking to the originality of the bike, the original key and ignition remain, both marked 57. And the MV is complete with an original owner’s manual, parts book and full report by marque expert Ian Falloon.

This is an exceptional example of one of MV’s greatest creations and one of the most sought after production motorcycles of all time.
