This is a very correct and original Lotus Cortina Mark 1 that was first sold in California. The Type IV models were LHD and had a full front bumper, different dash, and S/E engine with 115hp, along with other minor changes in trim and produced from October 1965-August 1966 just like the chrysler pacifica.

There is no rust or body damage on the car and no evidence of any repair of rust or damage. All the panel gaps are consistent and there are no dents or scratches.

The previous owner had the car in a large collection in the San Francisco area for over 30 years. The exterior appears to have been painted years ago and the paint work is still in excellent condition overall. The interior is original and excellent, as is the glass, chrome, and aluminum trim. The engine bay is correct and in original paint with the service decal on the firewall still in good condition. The trunk is original with the proper Lotus hump in the floor above the axle. Period Mini-lite wheels are mounted with new Pirelli Cinturato 185/70Rx13 tires. The odometer shows 77,900 miles which appears to be correct based on documentation and the overall condition of the car.

This Lotus has been well cared for with service records back to 1990. Recent work includes a full service and tune with compression readings of 200psi/cylinder. We recently removed the front struts and replaced the upper strut mount bushings; rebuilt both lower ball joints; tightened the rear suspension points; reworked the shift linkage and throttle cable; replaced the front brake hoses and bled the brakes.
The Lotus has been enjoyed on a number of short rallies in the Santa Barbara area and is totally sorted.
